blowing fuses
Alright one of my friends hooked up a stereo system in another friends car(I told them I would do it). Well now the fuse for the tail lights/dash lights blows every time you put a new one in. What the hell is up? I mean these lights are simple, wires from the lights to the fuse to the switch right? What could be wrong? Thanks alot.

It wouldn't be that if it's blowing without the illumination (lights) turned on. you've got the battery (orange or yellow) wire grounding out somewhere (touching the chassis) of the car. Make sure you use crimps or solder and wrap all connections. You are probably talking about the "room" fuse. The radio, some interior lights, and rear lights are all linked together......

Hmm, what/where is the lumination lead? Sorry I don't know much about electronics but I think I could have avoided this, lol.

Its very common for inexperienced installers to do. If wired incorrectly to the lumination lead (as I suspect from your description) it will burn out the dimmer which will result in the fuse blowing when the lights are turned on.
On some cars that ground thru the dimmer, you will pop the fuse everytime its put in. Very common on the Nissan's for that.

This is on my friends Nissan Maxima. I believe that the fuse automatically blows when you put it in. So what I am getting is that the a wire going from the battery is grounded on the car somewhere? Is that what rjuge said?

here's the radio wiring, double check he did tap onto the lumination wires.
If he got on the black/red or Red/yel and you switched the lights on, he may have burned out the dimmer whcih would cause your short on the nissan
