Asking for a quick drying solution (My car is wet)
So it just rained into my car. My interior pretty much has nothing in it. No consols, no plastic, no dash, no seats. But it does have carpet. So what do you guys reccomend to keep the water from mildewing or anything? I already wet dry vacced it but that didn't help all the way. Should I just let it air dry, or is there another thing I can do?
What if it starts to mildew, anyway? What kills that stuff in cars? This is new carpet and I don't have any padding in there, under it.

drive around for the next few weeks with the heater on floor full blast
heat + water does not equal mildew, it equals no water!
if you wetvac'ed it it should be 99% dry, just finish the job and it'll be good! I've NEVER had a carpet get mildewy in a car, I think they're treated at the factory against such things, floormats and carpets get wet ALL THE TIME, think, your shoes are wet when you get into the car if it's raining or whatever, etc, etc,etc

I don't know about the aftermarket system for treating carpets, but this thing is brand new as of the last year or so. It's probably got some pretty resistant fibers in it. Anyway, yes, I did wetdry vac it, and it got whiped down. At this point, the carpet doesn't come out. It's fully installed with bolts here and there and other parts are glued or sewn down.
Anyway, water got in there because sudden the weather got rainy out of no where, just when I was installing my sun roof panel with a new seal. It's in there now, but it was a pretty wild fifteen minutes.
Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions.

blow dry? hahah or just be patient and let it dry, but you should wash the carpets out rain water's nasty. and your car's going to start smelling if you don't wash them out!
