You can hook your I-Pod right into the new Alpine Headunits... Best headunit ever!

I've got the Alpine adapter as well on my FD. The control interface on the head unit is a little goofy, but it does work.

I've got the Ipod in the storage bin - nice and hidden .

once you get used to it it's great. and i'd rather spend $300 on a portable ipod than on alpine's 6-disc changer.

iPod sits on passengers seat with a cassette adapter stuck (literally -- the tape deck won't eject) in the stock tape player.

Too expensive for me. iPod + cassette adapter works just fine. Sound quality isn't like super awesome but it's not too bad, either.

not exactly an ipod..

This was my mp3 setup for a while (until the hard-drive failed on this unit... TWICE) It was pretty slick, the docking station had power and RCA connectors. I had a 12V-5V DC-DC converter and a noise filter for power, and connected the RCA's to the aux input of the EQ. Then I just had to pop the baby in the cradle and go!

I had that same mp3 player as you crackavelli. It was good until the hard drive on it crashed after like 3 months. Got an IPod after that and am much happier. Don't have it hooked up to the car yet though.

Hey im usin my ipod with the itrip and it blows....is there an adapter or somthing to directly hook it up? I was thinking about getting a head unit...but if I do I'll prolly end up getting the 3 gauge holder as well that someone was selling on the forums. So what do they sell to hook it up?? Also I'm not really rich or anything =/ So HELP ME!! If I get a head unit and the stupid stock alt doesnt support it imma get pissed and spend another 160 on buying silverrotors.

all you need is any alpine head unit made this year... you don't need an expensive one. and the alpine kca-420i(about $100). someone mentioned you can do it with clarion but i don't know anything about it.

and as far as your alt it's not that much of a drain but i'd recommend going with silverrotor's anyway.

Using the iPod with the cassette adapter, on a scale of 1-10 could you give me a rating on sound quality?

Don't need a write up! It just plugs into the back of the Alpine headunit then into the converter (Alpine) then to your iPod. Nothing to cut, no pwoer needed!
Simple!!!
