You can hook your I-Pod right into the new Alpine Headunits... Best headunit ever!

i do... here's my mini in the glove box next to the safc2... and my alpine head unit. i couldn't get a good pic of the kca-420i because i mounted it behind the dash.
|
Here you go. Alpine 9833 with the 420i interface under the dash.

that's cool... in an fd, fc and fb.
|
I've got the Alpine adapter as well on my FD. The control interface on the head unit is a little goofy, but it does work.
I've got the Ipod in the storage bin - nice and hidden :). Dale |
once you get used to it it's great. and i'd rather spend $300 on a portable ipod than on alpine's 6-disc changer.
|
sweet set up guys! unfortunately for me, i have a fd with the bose system and im using an itrip right now. :(
does your guys alpine units charge your pod at the same time? |
yup
|
Clarion has an ipod attachment now, dunno if its released but I got the ad from Macworld SF.
|
sup justin, hows your ishuffle working out for you?
|
Free IPods?
Where?!?! |
iPod sits on passengers seat with a cassette adapter stuck (literally -- the tape deck won't eject) in the stock tape player.
|
^you need an alpine(or clarion)... you won't regret it.
|
Too expensive for me. iPod + cassette adapter works just fine. Sound quality isn't like super awesome but it's not too bad, either.

not exactly an ipod..
This was my mp3 setup for a while (until the hard-drive failed on this unit... TWICE) It was pretty slick, the docking station had power and RCA connectors. I had a 12V-5V DC-DC converter and a noise filter for power, and connected the RCA's to the aux input of the EQ. Then I just had to pop the baby in the cradle and go!

here's the pic...

I had that same mp3 player as you crackavelli. It was good until the hard drive on it crashed after like 3 months. Got an IPod after that and am much happier. Don't have it hooked up to the car yet though.

Hey im usin my ipod with the itrip and it blows....is there an adapter or somthing to directly hook it up? I was thinking about getting a head unit...but if I do I'll prolly end up getting the 3 gauge holder as well that someone was selling on the forums. So what do they sell to hook it up?? Also I'm not really rich or anything =/ So HELP ME!! If I get a head unit and the stupid stock alt doesnt support it imma get pissed and spend another 160 on buying silverrotors.
|
all you need is any alpine head unit made this year... you don't need an expensive one. and the alpine kca-420i(about $100). someone mentioned you can do it with clarion but i don't know anything about it.
|
and as far as your alt it's not that much of a drain but i'd recommend going with silverrotor's anyway.

Any one wanna do a writeup? "How to install the stupid wire that connects the headunit to the ipod"?
|
Don't need a write up! It just plugs into the back of the Alpine headunit then into the converter (Alpine) then to your iPod. Nothing to cut, no pwoer needed!
Simple!!! |
