Anyone interested in custom spare well sub encloser??
I'm having a guy here in Bham to build me a custom single 10 that will completely hide and give you maxium space and sound.. He's going to build it by end of Dec.
He used to have the world record for db. back in the 90s and an expert on sound and fiberglass..
I told him that there are few FD owners that might be interested.. If so, let me know.. I just need ball park so that if he should use my car for molding or not.. and if its worth it for him to build. I mentioned and he will be charging around $350 for complete drop in.. if more than 10 are ordered..
It will be ported spare, completely sealed.. I'll be running single JL 10w6 from my other car, with Xtant 604.. So, that means pretty much any brand 10 should fit..
I'll post some pics when its completed end of Dec.

pics would be awesome. Id prefer one that sits behind the divider, DamonB style, cuz i like my spare tire for now, and will be using that space for water injection stuff once i get the money and a AAA membership

AAA membership is definitely worth the money..
I have AAA plus..
This years Rotary Revolution.. i'm hoping we could get some drivers to get AAA plus.. so if someone does break down, we could use each others card to tow the car back.. 100 miles for free.. x 5 people.. that's 500 miles..
I'll take ton of pics when the sub enclosure is in my car.. I'll try to take some video clips..

Phil-
What do you plan on covering the box with? some vinyl to try and match the surrounding area or were you just planning on having it painted?
i'll mention this to a few of my buddies and see if they're interested, although we have made 2 enclosures almost identical to what are you saying...

Wouldn't that rattle like crazy? My plastic divider thing rattles now whenever I hit any minor road imperfection, and I'd think with a sub in it it'd rattle constantly. Unless it were secured somehow...(hint hint)

haha the words werent my doing. http://www.dfw-rx7.com/subwoofer/ Thats the webpage for the other 2 pics. It looks like its secured pretty well. DamonB was the originator of this box, and i dont think he'll release the actual dimensions of the parts, so i was hoping someone else could get a little creative and re-create it

no I had a thread on here, I dont have the time to make them at the moment but I had 4 orders for the boxes already prepaid and one was waiting. They held a (3) 10" box in the spare tire well

It will be made in 3 or so weeks..
To answer some of you.. I don't want something sticking out.. I also want maxium space in the trunk.. also its not about quantity but quality.. I want one single 10 (its going to be JL10w6) sub that will make decent sound.. I'm hoping my source has experience to provide quality I'm looking for..
I just don't think 3x10 is necessary and not enough space available.. But I could be wrong.. i'm looking for solid single 10, where i could hide the sub and amp and show when i need to..

There is enough room for (3) 10's in the box that I constructed. and its very high quality, the fiberglass in thick, formed right, and is light and strong. The airspace would be able to accomodate most 10's that require .70 cubic feet or so, and if you look at my post more thoroughly I offer to make the boxes for single sub, and dual subs as well from (1) 10, (1) 12, (2) 10", (2) 12" and (3) 10". I was a mobile electronics specialist at tweeter and also have headed 2 install bays at 2 different shops in the area before starting mine. I have alot of experience with fiberglass as well as normal 3/4" MDF wood, and since I own an fd I can make the molds easily and set it up for each individual needs
