you'll want the monoblock for those subs.. yeah, just cut holes where-ever you find the best imaging to be.. probably A-pillars..

I'd recommend looking at more options. The amps arent enough to give you the power for those subs (which are simply over excessive for a small interior) it would be much more reasonable to (only using fry's right now due to your discount) the polk MM2124 in a custom box (make to spec) powered by the mono block you chose. as far as speakers, good choice if your discount makes it worthwhile. for what its worth look at the more underground sources, CDT rainbow, memphis.. i dont know what your discount is, but I'd take a 6x9 top of the line memphis over a polk component, myself.

A mono or 2-channel amp will be better for running just your subs. In this case the amp should be perfect for those subs. You can go bigger if you want but that one will work just fine. The only issue I have is that the subs' frequency response doesn't go to 20Hz or lower (they are 27Hz), but to be honest the average person doesn't play music that goes that low anyway.

As far as the components you choose, try to mount the tweeters within 1/4 the wavelength of the crossover frequency. Or if you don't like math.... measure the distance from the woofer to your head, then make sure the tweeter is as close to the same distance as that. The closer the better. Anything more than a couple of inches is unacceptable by my standards. But this is your car so you can do what you want.

whta you could do...

taking a quick glance at the set up you want to get here's what could be done.. since the unit has a pre=amp out for front ,rear ,and sub i'd look at running separate amps for all three.....the total output would be left up to you but here is the set up you could consider......using a monoamp for the sub say 500-1000w....300-500w two channel amp for front and the same for the rear..simple yet effective set up ...every one has their own taste for speakers so just remember that even if it sounded good in your buddy's Cavalier it may sound like crap in your 7..obvious reason is the acoustics of the vehicles..myself if I was going to spend a couple grand on a sound system the safest bet would be to check out systems that are already in a car the same as yours and has equipment similar to what you are hunting for.I assume that you could probably accomplish this by going to a group meet or some type of auto show ..you get my drift don't ya?Personally i would not throw my bucks at just any half-assed put together system..if I was investing on a sound system I would like something that i would be a "packaged fixture" not something that i wouldn't be satisfied with 2 days after i bought it and be kicking my own *** for buying the first "special" that came along.....good luck to ya ..Dave
