Aftermarket stereo antenna issue

Aftermarket stereo antenna issue
I followed Flybye's thread on wiring an aftermarket stereo to the tee, however, my kenwood face won't light up and my antenna constantly goes up then down about 2 inches. Even when the ignition is off.
Anyone have a clue what's wrong?
Haven't hooked the new speakers up, Bose still in the door, would that cause an issue with it turning on, setting it in protect mode?

After talking to the guy i bought it from, he says that because I didn't run new wires for the speakers that I likely fried the head unit.
The fuse is intact, so, anyone with knowledge, is that even possible to fry the unit simply going from Bose to aftermarket just from the wires?

I'll never say something is impossible, but that sounds like a load. I'd wager 95% of aftermarket head units installed use the factory wiring.
Now if you don't have the correct line level adapter for the bose system, sure you could have blown your bose speakers.
If you didn't use an adapter pigtail between the head unit and your factory wiring then I suppose you could cause some weird stuff if your custom wiring is wrong (ie I'm not sure it would be great if you swapped power and ground)
You didn't leave a lot of details on your installation, but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and say that if you have ever installed a radio before in your life you probably didn't blow this one up. It still sounds to me like someone sold you a bum head unit. I'm not saying it was on purpose, as I have received brand new kenwoods with some really weird issues in the last year or two.
If it's new, use the warranty. If it's used

I figured as much. I followed the wiring from a diff. Thread on here, and had a buddy who swapped his verify mine is wired right.
So, after calling the guy he says "walkout" orders void the warranty because they didn't install it. So even if its a bum unit, I have no warranty. Guess who just got screwed..🤦*♂️

Was it brand new? Is he an authorized kenwood outlet? If so, it doesn't matter what he says the manufacturer warranty should be valid. I would call Kenwood and check with them.
Most credit cards also extend the original warranty, if you used one.
Sounds like a really bad shop and I wouldn't do business with them in the future.
