Aftermarket door speakers in stock size (FD3S)?

Hi,

i have a non bose set up right now with missing front speakers and head unit. I think i'm going to get a Kenwood DNX but im not sure what speakers i should get. I don't want a high end audio system, just a decent one. No subwoofer or amp nor anything that requires to modify stock parts a lot. So what size speakers will fit (with window glass down) and sound decent in the doorpanels? Can i reuse the stock wiring?

Thanks for help, i already searched.

Ica

Infinity reference speakers are good. They are cheap (in price) and they sound good.

I replaced mine with Eclipse, but I don't remember the model number anymore. IIRC, you have to be careful of the depth, not just the speaker size. One of the local stereo shops had a reference they used for speakers that would work.

If you have the R1 style front speaker brackets you can fit a 6 1/2. I got the alpine type R front and back but to get a decent quality sound you need a power full head unit or a small 4 channel amp.

threw Alpine Type S Components in my doors using my own custom made brackets, you have to make sure to keep an eye on the speaker depth its a tight squeeze.

These sound good for the price.

does your speaker fits behind the stock cover? Do you know what's depth maximum?
