don't think there is a knock-off yet. I think most people have a bodyshop shave it.

Making polyurethane bumpers is too expensive and difficult to be profitable for most companies which is why 99% of aftermarket body parts are fiberglass. Pettit makes a fiberglass copy of the 99 front end.

As Insomniac pointed out, several people have had the licencse plate area shaved off of their 99-front ends and filled in. Probably too early to tell about the long term durability of this.

BTW, Phong, good luck on the FMIC install. See you Friday.

rotary extreme was going to do this however because of lack of demand they didnt go through with it. if you wanna talk to chuck (owner of RE) you might be able to convince him to make a batch if you can stir up enough interest.

I don't think theres really a lack of interest...

RE just wanted to hedge their bets and get full payments up front, THEN make the parts. Nobody is going to do that. You just gotta build 'em, and they will come. I know urathane is an expensive proposition, but i'd be interested in a copy done in one of those new "hybrid fiberglass" materials like C-West or INGS is using... its flexible at least, and probably cheaper to make.

Pettit Racing has the 99 spec front bumper replica for $699. I don't know how well it fits nor if it's urethane but still cheaper than the authentic ones......

The '99 Pettit replica w/o license plate holder is BO-PE-3G99, listed as $550. It's fiberglass, heard fitment is so-so. If the quality is anything like the Pettit flares I had, I'm likely to believe it.

The OEM '99 bumper is listed at $699 on their website.

Note that the $550 for the replica does not include the combo lights ($315 shipped is least I can find them for) or the lip - another $165ish. Not sure what they include in teh OEM $699 price, but judging by Pettit's pricing, it's likely just the bumper skin as well.

Some of the prices you see for the complete OEM '99 front end also includes the bumper support ($300), though it's supposedly possible to modify the '93 bumper support to fit. I'll find out this week, when I put my '99 bumper on.

So Pettit does has a real 99 spec front for $699? And also a replica of it for $550? I'm kinda tempted now...... The 99spec just looks way better than the rest.....

Yeah, their website uses frames, so can't give a direct link.

More info on the OEM '99 shaved here:
