94-95 glass sunroof

I personally do not like the glass sunroof on the newer models. However, I love the touring models, and love having a sunroof. Have any of you ever painted it? Is that possible?

mine was the metal one, but i'm looking at other fd's 94 + and don't want a glass roof. Are you saying that most want the glass more so than the metal?

Yes, almost anyone on this forum would rather have the glass. And yes, it is a SIMPLE swap, 4 nuts and the roof comes right of the tracks. I swapped mine for a glass one right when I got the car.

Cool, thanks for the info guys.

Do you know if it's possible to paint a glass roof. Making it blend and look smooth like the paint on the rest of the car? (just curious if it's possible)

I'll trade you as well.

Don't go and ruin a perfectly good glass sun roof with paint, just either trade someone, or if it's the light you don't want coming in, just have a tint shop put a couple layers of 5% on it and like magic, no light will be coming through.

Yeah, I'd trade it off before I ever painted it.

It's not the lighting that bothers me....it's just the glass. I don't like the look of it. I like the paint to flow all on the roof with it closed. If I want light, I'll open it Just personal preference.

Thanks again for the info, if I end up purchasing a 94'+ with a glass roof, I know I can trade easily.

I'm willing to trade too :o

I even have an extra non-glass sunroof sitting in my garage from a parts car I could use
