91 rust repair technique recommendations?
I'm planning on cutting out some rust under the passenger door and the right rear corner (above the taillight) of my 91 RX-7 coupe this spring.
I've read 2 or 3 books on the topic and the most critical method appears to suggest (A) welding in a steel patch with a wire welder, filling with lead and finishing with a very light coat of body filler.
Another author suggests using a technique (B) whereby a metal patch is glued in with aviation rivets. He states Japanese steel is simply a bad candidate for welding.
I've had a little experience with lead using oxy-acetylene on copper for flashing repair but have never used a wire welder.
What do you fellows recommend A or B or another technique. I'd hate to screw up on this one.
