90GTU stereo

I took a look at the stereo stack for this car and it looks like a 2 1/2 DIN size rack with separate radio, tape deck, and EQ. Is it possible to remove just the tape deck, throu in a CD player, and still use the EQ?

NO YOU CAN'T. The eq is not just an eq it controlls the amps. I am not sure which amps but if try to break any part of that unit (cd/tape/eq) nothing will work. This is coming from experience cause i tried doing it in my vert and ended up putting in a whole new system.
