6.5" in the front?

I've heard of ppl fitting 6.5" speakers in the doors, i was wondering if there was an adapter for that, or if they had to cut a bigger whole, did it look any good? anyone done it? anyone have pix?

had to build a mounting plate out of plywood for them but they fit fine - sound awesome.

Boston acoustic pro's.. some other might be harder to fit due to depth

Id post pics but it looks totally stock

I have the Boston 6-1/2" pros, no problems at all.
I have tne non-bose speaker mounts, had to hog them out a bit, but I have no fitment problems.
I did have to get creative to mount the crossovers though.

actually, I want to make it look stock. I wanted to see some pix cuz I wanna see how other people did it. No matter what, it's gonna stick out right? Like, it will go over top of the interior wall of the door since the hole is smaller than the speaker, correct?

In my setup you can't tell from looking at the door panel. When I said I had to hog out the mount, that's the part inside that you don't see. The speaker grill is still stock in appearance.

FC3PO, are you talking about an FC or an FD?

6.5" speakers are the stock size on the non-Bose front door locations on the FD. The spec sheet says 6.3", but they are dual-cone 6.5"s for all intents and purposes.

oh, sorry, I was talking about an FC. I ripped open the door panels to find the speakers buried in there, there isn't much air for the sound to get out, i don't know why the stock ones are covered by the inner panel. Anyways, apparently there are dash speakers and door speakers, the door ones seem to play only bass.

I was told the dash speakers are useless, being only 4" and all, if I hook up good speakers into the door, i'm still going to only output the bass right?

sorry, i haven't had much experience with car audio, but this seems logical to me that that would happen

Oops
I just assumed FD for some reason, probably because I just got doing mine, sorry for any confusion.
