3-way install?

im looking at a 3-way component system, and was curious as to wiring it. the crossover has one input and an output for each of the 3 speakers, but my thought is that then you're limiting it to the rear or front audio ports only, as opposed to both front and rear. i know cds can do left only or right only sound, but does it ever differ front to rear other than how the deck interprets it and has more bass in the rear (or is that false and just from the larger speaker sizes?).. idk, one thought was to run parallel front and rear outputs from the amp or cd player to the single input to get the most out of it.. idk, just curious really...

im looking at a DLS set right now unless i find something where i would get more for the money. I heard this set at a local performance shop and was blown away.. anyway, i just want to know how the wiring works here
