Hi everyone.
I am in the process of replacing the interior and exterior bulbs in my car with LEDs.

I have had a few problems with the instrument cluster and I need some help with sorting them out.

I am also going to take this occasion to report on my experience with some of the cluster bulbs.

First off, the illumination bulbs I purchased (194) for the cluster are bright white.
They brightened up the cluster really nicely and slightly lightened up the amber colour of the cluster itself. I'm very happy with that result. No dark spots.

Now, on with the problems/questions.

There are some lights in the cluster that stay on after a few seconds instead of turning off.

I'm putting down a list with observed behaviour, I have questions in regards to them

Brake 74 RED, Air Bag 74 RED LED stays on, but incandescent turns off after a few seconds from turning ignition key. I believe the only "fix" is to put an incandescent in. Low current runs through them even when they're off and apparently there is no way to turn the LED off.

ABS 74 Amber. Both LED and Incandescent do not turn off after a few seconds from turning the key to the first click. I believe this is normal, I just don't want to turn the car on to see if it goes away (winter around here). Does anybody know whether or not the LED will turn off once the engine starts?

Oil Pressure 74 RED, Coolant Warning Both LED and Incandescent do not turn off after a few seconds from turning the key to the first click. Any thoughts?

Low Gas Warning: 74 Amber. The LED stays on after key turn to first click. Incandescent does not come on instead. Any thoughts?

High Beams Does not turn on with either bulb, but does light up if you flash or put the high beams on. Is this normal? Any input as to why it is not turning on?

Rear defrost Does not turn on when turning the key, but it does turn on when the defrost is turned on (the defrost works fine). Same behaviour with both types of bulbs

Seat Belt 74 RED Works the same way with both types of bulbs: turns on with turning the key, turns off after a few seconds. It is unresponsive to using the belt. In other words, it will come on and stay on for a few seconds, then it will turn itself off whether or not you have put the seat belt on. If I understand the User's Manual correctly, this is however the way it works. A chime starts ringing once the belt is not worn and the car is moving.

Check Engine 74 It does not turn on whether you have LED or incandescent on. I have a Power FC. Any insight on this thing's behaviour?

Cruise Control: 74 Green. Neither incandescent nor LED turn on when I turn the key.
