18x10 rear wheels enough for wide body?

im ordering a VERTEX ridge wide body kit for fd3s,the guys at aspeed alliance told me that in the rear will be 40 mm wider and 35 mm wider in the front, so i dont know if my gram lights 57s-pro 18x10 will be wide enough for the rear or i will have to put a aspacer on or get a wider wheels, that will be a pain in the a.. and waste of money because the wheels are brand new.

thanks

well, personally i don't think the 18x10's will look that good with a widebody. i was in the same situation as you and ended up selling my volks and getting a different set of wheels to fit the widebody (actually just rear flares). i'm now running 18x11.5 with 315/40 tires and it fits nicely under the flares.

just to give you some insight- i run 18x10's in the rear without any flares or widebody. you may want to consider a 11.5 or 12 depending on the look you want for the rear. the front- a 9 or 9.5 will do depending on offset. I run a 9 with a low offset because of my wide flared front.

You can run 18x10's if you want. If you have an offset of about -9, there should'nt be a problem

Just for refrence. On this car, the flares in the back are about 50mm wider. Not sure about the front but I'm guessing about 30mm wider. Wheels are 18x9 (go with nothing higher than +4 but get close to 0 or even a minus offset in the front) and 18x10 (offset is -9).

FYI, i have 19X10 and a pair of 30mm spacer on the rear. So i dont think 18X10 will look good on a widebody.

the vertex kit is 40 mm wider in the back and 35 in the rear the apex car has the kit on and has 18x10 in the rear and 18x9 in the front i dont know the offset.so you said using lower or even negative offsets will be fine without spacers?
by the way what wide body kit are those in the photos and what wheels?
PD:the pic ere shown the apex car use 57s-pro wheels and the wider they can be is 10"

13b maniac, both cars were done by a shop in Canada called Autoshop Cannonball. Body kit is M Sport and wheels are by Work. I had called them a while back about this body kit and the fitment of the wheels. The info I posted earlier is what they gave me and they mentioned nothing about spacers.

I have the N1 fender flares molded to the rear quarter panels and To fill the gap I had to use a 25mm spacers on a 18x10 with a +37 offset. I could still push out the wheels further out but didn't want to use a much larger spacers.
My suggestion is to run spacers for the time being since your wheels are brand new, you can always get wider wheels later on.

p.s. If you do get spacers (they are rather inexpensive compared to another set of wheels) make sure you get one that is hubcentric.
