Yep we also bang our heads against the wall every time you guys ask the same question when at the top of the newbie forums are stickied announcements that inform you about this.
Knowledge is such a wonderful thing.

Its not hard to get 5 posts. Put some effort into your replies in the New Member sections. I won't approve posts that obviously took little or no thought.
As for finding solutions to your problems, most of the your questions have been asked before and already solved. The search tool is an essential part of these boards.

But this function works the opposite way as well. I signed up to help another member answer a question in the FC3 specific forum and can not do so.
So now I have to make 3 completely useless post in order to do it, which adds 3 more useless posts to the forum as opposed to just one useless post. I do understand that mosty people sign up just to ask a questions and usually those question have been asked several times and answered, but yet the person decided not to, or was incapable of using the search function.

i can see why this method is being used... i'm on a couple of different forums, and everyone gets annoyed with newbies asking the same questions over and over again. this site wants to prevent such things and want new members to "prove themselves" and contribute to the forum as well. i hope my post-count goes quickly...
