I can see the pros and cons of having a system like this, my problem is I have nothing worth saying that hasn't been said already before. The classifieds seem like the place I'll be posting and dealing with the most.

I see there's 5 free post threads. IMO just remove 5 post count to the total required and eliminate the waste of time.

Since you can view this site without signing up, you'd think most people singed up wanting to post a question

It does make sense to have a required post count for the classified sections though.

I like this system. Too many forums have spam running through it. I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but in order to look for rx7's for sale I have to actually go through threads and actually read some good posts. 10 posts isn't a lot when you think about it.

ding! and that's 10 posts now for me... Seriously, this is really frustrating. I get a huge amount of info from forums like this, and this is the only one I have to get a minimum # of posts to get access. I'd prefer to lurk, particularly when the forum has so much good information already said. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I imagine it turns a lot of noobs away.

Hmmm... I just realized that not having a hundred post limits you in some way. Well I guess I'm closer to that after posting in this thread

How about an amount of time on the forum as well... Its Bullshit that a person that has been here for over 4 years still can't go everywhere.

I get the purpose of security to keep spammers and bad members out, however there are a lot of us "good people" who are lurking, just looking for info, or looking to make a car/parts purchase.

Also, I'm new to rx7's, so I don't have a lot to contribute. I'm here to research and buy a car, but I can't look at cars for sale in my local region

thanks mar3 for clearing up the post unlocking. As a new member to this forum i dont mind this posting count since it can make this a more efficient in all sections of the forum, aka weeding out spammers/scammers as well as better flow on the thread topics. It's like a video game with achievements with the post count to unlock new sections of the forum

NJ Post definition?

Though I am other car forums, I've not learned the difference between a thread and a post. So, I'm stymied! Where might I find what are referred to as Sgt Fox rules please?
