How many posts to unlock all sections of the forum?
So now I am curious. Why do you set the minimum post count to 15 for the West regional classifieds to view the classifieds forum, but in order to view the actual threads in the classifieds forum you need 20 posts? I am assuming this was a boo boo, as the other classifieds I checked did not have this issue.
What about people that want to buy something from a member that came up in a Google search but you can't access the classified post because you don't have 10 posts. Could have been a quick sale for a member. I am about to buy a rotary to put in a dune buggy as well, so that isn't the only reason I am here...
guess youll just have to start posting to keep ur self up to speed. im working on my 10th one oh and btw i thought about doin a swap for my 7 and throwin the 13b in a buggy. great minds thnk alike
hey my car is in roseburg, oregon i thought about sellin it i just dont wanna part with it. its '90 gtu 137000 chassis miles, brand new 13b put in at 100000 miles. literally put a rebuilt tranny in right before i went back to the army. interiors nice minus the back i took the speakers out and there was oil spilled back there. brand new tires, brand new alternator. previous owner got side swiped in it driver door and front panel can use some love.

Good catch on your part. Those boards with the higher limits have now seen a good reduction in the idiotic behavior and squabbling that has consumed so much time on the moderation staff in them.
It seems like madness but this whole process sure has cut down on banning members and the incident with the vendor losing $200 is the last incident I know of where a member got scammed of money and parts. Sadly, and I don't like to blame the victim here but he kinda brought it on himself - hard way to learn about why you shouldn't do money deals via the PM system. Always keep all discussions, minus personal information like cellphone numbers and addresses, in the classifieds ad thread itself for public record. Consider that the free tip of the day. Merry Christmas, too!
The overall incidents of members getting ripped of is WAY down and you'll notice a distinct lack of ANY **** spammed here or any of the ridiculous 500-listed-models-of-cellphones-for-sale spam here, either.
The goal of the process is 95% realized just right there.
Now, it may seem ridiculous, vicious, mean-spirited or downright petty, but I'm telling y'all that there is an active group of moderators, including this Admin, who actually enjoy going through post histories and eliminating all the posts that don't follow the Sgt Fox posting rules for New Members. Please don't be one of them.
Read those rules, live them and nobody gets hurt.

Somebody else put the pieces in place previously, the current moderation staff was selected to tune it to a razor...and it's working.
Hmmmm....75 posts, you say...?
It's cuz yer a slack-jawed, yella-belly weasel, that's why!
Except for "Yea universal healthcare!!!!" created for the Politics board, all of your threads that you have created have been in the Lounge. What have you done for the rotary community with that measly post count...? You should be ashamed.
BTW....Obama still loves you.
If it makes anyone feel better, I'm also a member of a Ford Bronco forum and they require 75 posts before you can view all sections - including the classifieds. It's bloody ridiculous. If you were a noob, or a bloody good mechanic with no spare time for "posting" you'd never make the 75 posts. Makes me angry.

a lil to strict on post rules i mean i come hea to get additional help for my rx7 and i cant make my own thread till i get 20 post? how lame is tht..its not like im ganna be using this site a whole lot...
What threads are we allowed to post in exactly? I tried a few others that I was able to view with no restrictions and it would not allow me too.
Edit: Sorry if I was previously mentioned in this thread I just skimmed through this briefly.

Yes, it was mentioned. It's also in Sgt Fox's sticky atop the Introduce Yourself board in this very New Member board. That should be the FIRST thing everyone reads again before even posting here because it answers a LOT of questions right off the bat. This novella of a thread simply gets into more detail.
Guess what.....you can create your own post in the New Member technical section right now. We don't want to see a thread created in the regular tech sections where the answer is already been given about 50 different ways in the archive and the regular board if it isn't already answered in the FAQ page.
Don't re-invent the wheel. Your problem isn't unique. Start reading first if you insist on dropping right into the regular tech boards. This way, you won't waste the people's time there or our precious server bandwidth. Having to eliminate threads because someone posted a common problem in the regular boards gets old. The legacy members and some zealots love to spam those kinds of threads with gibberish like "repost!" or "search, noob!!" or "once you type in grammar that can be understood, we can answer!" or "rahr!!", etc., et al.
In the 2ndgen tech section, they're just downright rude. We gave up a long time ago trying to curb the behavior there since they figured out how to do it and stay in forum behavior guidelines....well, it's also pretty funny sometimes, too.
The places with 20 post restrictions are there for a reason. We don't want new members in there yet. Get yer freakin' rotor legs first.
Friend, THAT is lame. For a guy like you, consider this website a library. Check out some material and read. We're not here for the casual fan. We live this stuff.
Should be...I'll check right now and derestrict them if not.
My son had no problem getting to 20 posts in three days.
He's still eleven years old.

thanks as this was very informative i was an avid member havent been back on the forum in over a year and back on to do more research and maybe help out a fellow member from time to time .Only thing that sucks i dont remember my old username or password as ive looked in old emails but to no avail.well guess im stuck trying to work on my post count.
You're going at it backwards. What was the actual screen name from the past?
The original owner of this website tried to do the same thing and that thread fell on its face, so don't lose too much sleep over this. And the Lounge is a particularly vicious place to post anything. I don't bother.
As his father and his guardian, I can let him drink a beer or a glass of wine as long as I'm present. The stupid schools are already wasting his time teaching him about computers and the 'Net, so it was both a good school lesson and also an opportunity to see if all the whining I was reading had merit.
It absolutely has no merit is what I found out. If an eleven year old boy can do it, what's everyone else's excuse?
I'm thinking sometime in 2007. I have PM's on instructions from 2008 but I came onboard the moderation team after the process was already in place.
