How to bump a thread?

I am trying to find out how to bump a thread. Are there any restrictions i should know about before bumping a post? Thanks for any insight.

You cannot BUMP a Thread in any of the NEW section.
All threads are Equal here.
Besides it is ONE word and a lazy way to get a post!..
If you feel it is of the Utmost urgency to get a repluy to your question then you would be better off to get your post count up and post a question in the Specific Section( like Second Gen Specific) where Once your post count is adequate to access/post in that section, you should be able to post a thread without waiting. No moderating of threads in that section.

I felt it wasn't the appropriate section to post this question. I do however see bumps in classified sections on a lot of forums including this one. Thanks misterstyx again.

You can bump a thread if its been sitting for a while. Some people think its alright to go in and bump their thread four times a day though and that's a little out of line in my opinion. If I'm looking for something in the classifieds I will read all the threads for the past month to find what I need/want.

Ohh, bumping is just the act of posting at all. It "bumps" the thread back to the top of the list.

So you'll see, "bump", "ttt"- to the top, "GLWS" which is just good luck with sale but typically a free bump also.

Some people will go in and do it to keep their listing at the top though, that's what I meant.

If you were asking because it says bump, that's because they just typed it, its not a special function or anything.

Yep just type a reply of Bump or TTT in your ad.
RULES are NO bumps within 48 hours.Any Excessive bumping May get your thread deleted..One of our MODS will let you know that and warn you about excessive bumping too,of course!..uh oh..don't wake up Grumpy!!!
That goes back to the "all threads are equal" rule again..I hate to bring that up!

Now the question is, was I bumping the post, or showing him how to bump, thus helping someone new in the community?!

Friends or Office Space Jennifer?
