But IIRC you need at least 5-10 posts before you can have access to certain areas. Just a word of caution: Don't make them lame and/or post nonsense as the forum as whole frowns on that. Just take a minute and reply to someone's thread with something insightful.

I was a bit confused by this as well, but a slight inconvenience goes a long way in keeping the riffraff out.
