searchin pretty heavy for fab ideas...i keep running into the same problem tho...when im searchin in very old post that are supposed to be picture heavy however, the pics dont seem to be there anymore.
is this because my computer sucks or are they too old ppl deleted their pics...or whats up? anyone know whats the deal?

There's three reasons you won't find pics in the older, older threads:

The thread existed before the two hacks of the website in the distant past. A lot of info and pics were never recovered although the threads, most of them anyway, were able to be recovered.

It's so old that the original host site no longer has the pic file. This is also true of a lot of newer pics also where constraints on bandwidth result in the member having some of their pic files trimmed by the host, like Photobucket.

The Forum Admins did a clean up and deleted attachments and/or pics at a high level, not knowing what a fine thread was there before it lost its pictures.

In any case, if the original author of the thread didn't save his original pic file, we're out of luck. If they did save it, it is possible to rebuild the beast. All my threads can be reconstructed easily since I can access any post on the website and I have all of my pics saved on two PC towers at home. To rebuild someone else's thread would be exhausting but possible since merging of new posts/replies with the pics to the old original post would be necessary to accomplish the task.

I'm pretty sure you're not going to find any Moderators volunteering for that task.

With a 2ndgen RX-7? Are u crazy? lol...j/k....on the threads you were looking at, PM the member whose pics are missing to see if they still have them on file. We can give it a shot.

Pick the one you most want to see reconstructed then PM that member. If they still have the files, I'm willing to try to bring one thread back from the dead if it was truly useful.

PM me once you've got the guy saying he has the files and wants to try to rebuild his thread.

oh man... i dont really remember which one i wanted to see the most...i just kinda sat down one day and did a massive looking thru everything archived and ended up not looking at quite a few because they no longer had pics, and the posts ppl were writing happened to be in response to the photo, so with out seeing the photo myself, i couldnt make much sense of what some ppl were retrospecting about.
i may sit down and do it again some day, in which case i will pm them and see what i can do without bothering you too...then i may take it a step further and get hold of you to help me out...i wouldnt count on me doin that soon as it took me literally all day...but, ill probably get hold of you some day...
