What happens to the EGI fuse after install?

Installing my AEM coils,and I got wondering..(oh,oh!).
If I am not running the stock engine harness anymore, then Is the Egi fuse still Used?..
Can I use the EGI Fuse and EGI Comp for something?.I would like to use it for either the new Coils or draw power for the Fan.
..anyone?..gurus?.wiring dudes?...mom?
