KS Went Semi ports and Went with Semi ports and now im having problems starting the car.

Hey there,

I have a S4 TII block with large streetports plus semiports. the engine ran fine before i opened it to modify the housings and the manifold. after putting it back together im having all kinds of dificulty to start it. I have 80 PSI of compression on both rotors. if I pull it it starts instantly but i cant get it to start with the key!!! it just cranks and cranks but nothing else happens, Im reading 260 rpms on the haltech program while cranking. I figured I needed to add fuel somewhere or maybe work with the timing but I just cant get it figured out!!! maybe someone arround here has faced this challenge before or has a map already done for it or can guide me in the right track. like I said it is a S4 TII block with large street ports and aditional Semiports. Im using a Haltech E6S with the 3 6AL boxes. if additional info is needed im using 720/1680cc Injectors, Turbonetics T70 / 96mm hotside turbo, factory intake manifold modified for semiports out of the secondaries, stock CAS, 3BAR MAP Sensor. if I missed anything important please let me know.

um if it runs ok when you pull start it, then try playing with the primer map.

primer map = pumping the gas before you crank with a carburetor

Your gonna have to make fuel adjustments as j9fd3s stated. You have to realize that depending on the closing timing of your PP's, you will lose some intake air through reversion out the port as the rotor is beginning it's compression stroke because the apex seal has yet to clear the top part of the small pp. That's why your compression is reading low and giving you starting difficulties. Pull starting generates higher cranking rpms to overcome the pumping losses.
