Trouble zeroing my timeing

So I was trying to zero the timeing today on my 2nd gen non turbo. I have the timeing locked to -5*. With the timeing light on t1 the -5* mark is almost 90* off. The mark is over by the spark plugs. Mind you I have not touched the hub or cas since the car ran last. Well the problem is now as I retard the timeing via timeing angle value the car runs rough and stalls. However when I advance it the car runs smoother.

Do you guys have any ideas what could be up?

I am also running a 13bt base map for my na since I have not found a stock port map for na.

Well I pulled the hub and saw that it can only go on one way. Pulled the cas and it was set right. I am still confused. I tried a na map today but even with the triger angel value at 100 i was still alittle short of reaching the timeing mark.

Use the Leading 1 plug wire.

What are your ignition settings?
