stock turbo 12-13 psi, what injectors should I go with?

Any haltech guys running the stock turbo right now? I want to know if I can get away with stock 550's and a walboro.

In a few months Iwill be stepping up turbo sizes, for the 350 whp range. I am using the 4 550's for initial start up next weekend. (The less I change the shorter my trouble shooting list is when I have a problem)

once the car starts I want to drive it and I dont think I can do that at the aforementioned boost settings.
I did port my wastegate about 3mm wider overall in diameter so maybe with no boost controller I may hit 6-7 psi and that might be ok.
Its been a year in the building and I want to drive this sucker!

I was running stock TII fuel pump with stock turbo, but 550 primary and 1600 secondary. This is with stock FPR. Porting the wastegate won't do much unless you've seriously modified it. I was hitting 16 psi from boost creep on a ported s5 wastegate, but that was on a half bridge.

My advice woudl be get some 1600 secondary. They are cheap, and you'll need them anyways when you upgrade turbo.

The general consensus is that running in excess of 10 PSI on stock fueling isnt recommended, but if you have a wideband and the AFRs are safe, then you are good to go. Your IDCs will be pretty high though.

I will have to see what the afr are with the boost controller off I just dont want to blow anything up.

I think 1600's are overkill for my setup, my long term goal is 350-375 hp. So I will probably end up with a 720-(1000-1200) setup.

right now I am going to use the walboro fuel pump and seee what the stock ones can do.

You still trying to tackle things you have no clue about...

There is no such thing as "overkill" on fuel injectors, unless...
They are so big that you're hitting their minimum on-time.

With fuel injector sizing, as long as you're over the minimum on-time and not maxing them out, bigger is ALWAYS better.
Bigger means more headroom in case you do need more fuel.

Since we're talking about secondaries, you will almost never hit a really low on-time, since they are being phased into with the primaries.

We all go 1600's cause they are CHEAP.
If you wanna insist on going smaller that cost MORE, go right ahead and waste your money.
The 1600's in the secondaries have been proven, and you're never going to change that fact.

geez, well ok then.

does anyone make 1600's that can drop into the stock fuel rail?
and would I be able to use my stock 550's as my primaries?

Yea BJ 1600's will be fine since you are not trying to idle them.

they have both new and remanufactured ones dirt cheap

but i'd probably go with the 720/1200 if you have the money. it's much easier and more forgiving during the staging transition to have injectors a little closer in size.

thanks for the input I am going to run the 550 1600 for the first month until I do the turbo upgrade.

I know this has been debated alot, but for asperations of 350-370whp can I get away with a internal wastegated turbo that will bolt to the stock manifold, or should I get an external gate and a hks mani.

thats easily a 500 more bucks for the mani and wastegate but if its needed I will go that route.
