Stock CAS wires

On a 1987 TII:

Would it be best to use the stock wiring since its shielded, and simply make the connections right at the E6X? I've tired some very basic tests during install on the old engine and CAS, and I *seem* to be able to get signal with the haltech's wires. But sicne I hear so much jazz about signal problems, would it be a good idea to just use the stock shieled wire as its routed and make the connections at its end? (under the dash where the stock ECU went?)

I always try to use as much of the stock loom as possible. To me it looks to have better shielding than the Haltech loom. Interested to hear what others say.

That was my take as well. If mazda's sheilding and wire routing was able to get a signal to their ECU, I don't see why it shouldn't in this case.

But yes, my post was mostly to hear what others had done/were doing.

On a related note:

Is there anything else from that harness (the one that plugs into the ECU, but doesn't run with the engine harness) wire wise I need to hook up?

I'll take it as a yes that I just leave that harness dangling....couldn't find anything of *seeming* importance in it during some test last night.

Any commentary on using the stock CAS wires? Better shielding then the haltech's? Worse? Give me some feedback on that.
