Haltech Stall during winter warm-ups
Stall during winter warm-ups
I live in glorious Michigan, and on the rare occasion in the winter when there is not snow on the ground I drive my RX7 to work. During the warm up after coolant temp hits 100 F the car stalls. It's not a stumble it's a full shut down like the power is cut off to the ECU. It only occurs when it is below freezing outside. It seems to be a time dependant issue, but I do not know what to look for. Anybody have any ideas?
Does it start back up just fine? Which Haltech are you using?
I am no expert but I would check your coolant temp correction map and IAT correction map. Maybe for some reason it has a cell way out of wack.

I'm using a GM idle control valve (See auto-nomics web page to see exact setup on there throttle body). Yes my motor is ported, and I run a J-tech style intake. I ilde at 1500-1750 rpm cold 1200-1500 rpm warm with AFR of 12.5-13.5. It did it today and it was 34F out. I think it's a time delay thing. It's not a stall it's a shut down, like the ECU has a brain fart and can't recover intime to prevent a stall. It only occurs like 3-5 minute into warm up, the rest of the time it run perfectly.
