Speedhut tach with sprint RE question

I just installed a Speedhut tach and wired it to my Sprint RE ecu. After doing some research on here, I set the tach at 2 PPR and put the tach output settings in the Sprint RE as 12V, 4 pulses per cycle and 50% duty. The tach seems to be working but somewhat slow to respond to throttle input, especially around idle. Also, it seems to be off by 50-100 RPM from what my laptop shows. My question is, are my settings wrong (not really sure what to put duty at), or do I need to install the Haltech Tacho Output Adaptor to get a more accurate reading?

I am still using the stock T2 coils so I could hook the tach up to the original location on the coils, but I plan on switching to AEM smart coils which is why I hooked it up to the ecu while everything is apart.

Thanks for the help.
