so anyone use the e8 yet?

i was thinking about giving that one a go for my fd.

from what i've heard and what haltech says, it looks to be more or less a detuned e11. i hope it doesn't have the reluctor/interference problems the x has...

The E8 is an E11 with less outputs, its got the same software capabilities, and you can use your own sensors. Its costing around the same as the old E6X price, the X has been lowered in price. There is an adapter harness that will be available for the This unit in not too long so you can do a Plug-n-Play install in the FD.

i don't believe in plug n play--unless it's with a brand new car.

i can't stand old crusty harnesses with the connectors ready to fall off. the reliability is one thing, but stock harnesses just look cluttered and trashy.

i think i'll hit it up and see what there is to see with it.

Good point junkie. But if you take into account the fact that the AEM and PowerFC both are plug n play deals and do great in the sales dept. i guess haltech could benefit from it. I know there are a lot of cars with PnP ECUs who are getting great results.

But i do agree with your comment, i too prefer the new harness over the old.

I might be getting the e8 in soon but they do not have a plug in play for that system yet. They only have the plug in harness for the E6x/e11 for the fd. They have not made any other harness for any other cars yet that i know. If any one is interested i will be having or rather trying to get Jason to aprove of a GB please pm me. I will be having some great prices.

Hmmm... competition, great!

Ive got this going on right now, but i would consider Group Buys for less of the asking price Ive got going on now. If anybody gets left out of the GB contact me. Check this other thread.

I believe so, since Haltech has stated that the E8 is basically an E11 with less outputs. And the software for the E11 is for the E8 as well. But dont quote me yet, ill find out and let everybody know.

I've recieved word from Haltech that the Patch Looms are being done, and will probably be available befor the year is out. And that more will come later. But, the fact that, at least our cars, the FC's, and some FD's do have damaged and faulty harnesses, and unless we are working with brand new cars, sometimes the factory vehicle harness isnt practical. I would only do patch looms only if the car is less than 5 or 6 years old.

But thats me.

haltech confirmed it will control the pump, but it won't have feedback (which isn't a big deal as long as it works), and they don't have any setup info.

so has anyone wired up the omp before? i found a cheat-sheet for wiring it to the e11, but no control info.

I found one that might help. The min and max feedback settings go around 190 +/- 15, and 920 +/-15. Although i dont know what kind of proportioning this would result in, but that is what it says.

i think i'll need someone to give me a hand with setting all that up just so i don't screw it up the first time...that'd be a costly mistake.
