Retard question - I want lock my timing at 20deg advanced, is that -20 on haltech?

Ive got a brand spanking new full cut bridgeport which ive just fired up and it running veyr nice. My turbo is on its way but for now im running it non turbo to get it run in.
When i used to play with non efi rotarys we would lock the dizzy at 20deg adavanced, I can do this exact thing using the timing settings. soooo
is it -20 i put in there, just like we put -5 to zero the timing?
or am i putting 20?

Also can someone send me a Bridgeport turbo map. I will be running a H1e holset

i believe advanced would be BTDC which would be -20. Hopefully someone will come in so you can be 100% sure.

Yes, on the E6X -20 would be 20 ATDC.

It wouldn't run correctly if you had the timing locked at -20. You need to go through the process of zeroing the timing to confirm that what the ECU it doing is correct in terms of actual crankshaft position.

yea i did that mate, that was the first thing, thanks for the advice tho. It didnt really like to idle at -5. I had to have my dad step on the gas to keep it going.

why did you need a new motor, I thought you just tuned it?
20 advanced is correct to lock bridge to, positive numbers are advanced (BTDC)m negative are retarded (ATDC).

hahaha, because I blew up the last one on the Kawerau straights doing 250kph, It didnt actually blow on accel, it gave out under decel, or, potentially knocked sometime during the night and finally threw a bit of the apex out the exhaust.
so now ive got a new BO motor, got 650km on the run in done already this weekend. after a week of 70km round trips to work it will be ready for a tune next week with the new holset turbo im organising. So many turbo options tho, Biagio turbos for $1500 inc gst,
Holset H1E custom made $1000 +gst
Masterpower GT37 ptrim $1350 inc gst...

lots of options to choose from.
The holset is looking the best tho due to its rapid and efficient spool times, need boost fast on the BP, make the motor work for you i say, not the other way around

20 for 20*BTDC. -20 for 20*ATDC.

Send me all of your specs in email and I'll make you a bridgeport base map.
