quick install question about old harness

when you use the haltech ex6 in a second gen s4 do you keep any of the old ecu wires? reason im asking is i am about to have the engine bay painted before all the new stuff goes in and the engine harness needs to come out, seeing its already cut in a few places i dont know if its worth salvaging in one whole piece. every new sensor on the engine is a haltech piece, no factory stuff is being used sooooo do i ditch the whole harness? oh and also what about under the dash, any stuff under there torwards the steering wheel side to ditch? thanks in advance

Hum, I know for sure you want to fish out your wiper/cruise control stuff from the engine harness on the passenger side.

Well, will you use the wipers, is this a street car? i would rewire the power to the wipers and control them with some sort of switch, or if your wiper switch is good it would be a good idea to rewire it, its not that hard, if you strip the factory harness its pretty easy to find the wiper wires.

And if you are using only haltech sensors on the engine, why have an old ugly taped up harness that wont do anything there. I would take out the engine harness all together.

Now what about the driver side harnesses. I guess there is the charging wire / power wire harness?

What harness goes to the headlights/driving lights?

The driver side harness carries all the wires for the coils, the headlights, alternator, starter, etc, i usually leave that, cause it also carries main relay power, etc., i even run the coils off those wires, specially if i use all factory coils and igniters, saves wiring time, and usually there arent much issues there.
