93 rx7 will not start
My 93 rx-7 will not start. I will turn the key and the engine will crank but no start.
The fuel pump will turn on when the key is turned but that is the only time. I am also not getting any spark. I think that because the way that the fuel pump is acting that this could be a problem with the haltech (E6K). I am thinking that maybe the haltech may not be getting the signal that the engine is cranking. Has anybody had this problem? Some info about this problem would really be aprreciated, Thanks

Haven't we ALL heard this
First question is when you crank the engine do you see an RPM readout in the engine data page? Also, do you see rpm on the tachometer ?
Test the fuel pressure also to see if the pump is working. But you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime the system when you first turn the key.

My fuel pump does prime the system when I first turn the key. Unfortunately my tachometer does not work so I can't see what rpms are reading. I do not have a laptop with a floppy so I cannot run the haltech system right now. I am trying to get ahold of my friend who has one so I can check there

Hum, so how did you load the base map into the haltech before you turned the key?
If you didnt load a base map before you started...and the ignition options were wrong in the haltech...it could cause some damage..at least that is what the haltech book says.

I have not done anything with the haltech at this point. I was just thinking that because the fuel pump primed initially and because there was spark when on the frame but not when in place and engine cranking that there might be some sort of signal that the engine is cranking that might not be getting either sent or recieved somewhere

Get a laptop, download the software from the internet, the haltech site has all the software and wiring diagrams and manuals you need. If you are turning the key on and you hear the fuel pump prime the haltech is getting power, if it doesnt come on when you crank the haltech isnt getting a crank signal. Go online with the software load a base map for your application and then see if all works right and you do get an RPM signal.
No point in flying blind and just guessing.

No this is not a new install. I have never had to deal with the haltech. When I had it installed I got it tuned in Dallas. I have the software but it is on a floppy disk, and I don't have a laptop with a floppy drive. My friend should be coming over today with his laptop and he also has experience dealing with the haltech, so hopefully we can get some answers. Thanks to everybody who posted all of your information was helpful.
