Angry ok ,230 hp @ 7psi....but.......!!!!!!!

Ok im not really a haltech wizz,,, i have a first gen rx7 with a 1991 13b. Basic mods: 850cc secondary injectors, ox giken clutch, 3 bar map sensor, and haltech e6k.

we were tuning the car and managed to get 230 psi @ 7psi, the problem is the car just wont go past 6900 rpms, even when the rev limiter is at 8000,9000 etc. We changed the coils, plugs, cleaned injectors and still wont rev past the 6900 mark.....is this familiar to anyone,? is there anything else i should check?

Need more information on the build. Assuming stock turbo... What are your coil settings?

I was just thinking maybe his charge time and such. Did you do logs to see what is happening at that rpm? Maybe it's something simple like you are losing cas signal caused by bad filters or something... I too am in no way a pro, but I seem to either experience or create half the problems on this section of the forum. :P

I saw a few gremlins like this with my old car with an E6k, have also seen a few with my current E8. They seem to often be fixed by re loading firmware, re loading default maps, and re creating the tuned map by copying the values in.

in the higher rev's, I've found excess richness can almost cause the engine to hit a wall. Make sure its not getting drown in the upper rev ranges.

With the stock turbo, it's not worth going past 7krpm. The setup is already losing power at that point.
