Haltech Oil pressure through Halwin
Oil pressure through Halwin
Im looking at wiring the stock FD oil pressure sending unit to the Haltech. I saw on an older thread that the sending unit needs 5v from the haltech with a resistor and then connected to an input wire.
Can anyone draw something up that will work for me?
I might be getting a RE speed pedestal, so if that happens, what sending unit would the Haltech like?

The resistor is called a pull up resistor. Usually you select a pull up resistors value to be the same as the mid point of the range of the sensor your going to use with it. I use a simple LM 5 volt regulator and then the resistor from the 5 volt input to ground in a radio shack enclosure. I posted the values for the oil pressure somewhere in this section for the FD sender.
Basically any sensor can be sampled using the above. Below is a nice thread with circuit.

so a regulator like this?

Still trying to figure out about wiring it, even though I have the schematic.

Don't know what they are doing in that schematic looks like a usb power.
This one shows what your doing better.

regulator is a 7805 from radioshack
