Haltech Oil metering with a S5 motor?
Oil metering with a S5 motor?
Can a haltech deal with the electronic metering system?
If not, whats the general work around (and I don't want to run premix).
Also, if the electronic system is a pain in the ****, would it be better off to adapt the S4 mechanical system. I'm not real sure on this, does it require removing the front cover?
Any help/ideas/theories welcome
I know theres gotta be alot of S5 guys out there running haltechs hehe.
Thanks

The haltech can not control the electronic oil metering pump thats why most people premix. You could use the s4 front cover and a mechanical oil metering pump but you will also have to modify the oil return line from the turbo because it runs back next to the OMP on the s4 and to the very front of the cover on the S5. The throtle body on the s5 is also different than the s4. The s4 has a small arm on it used to pull up the control rod on the mechanical OMP and the s5 has a second TPS used to control the electronic OMP. So to switch to a mechanical OMP you would need a s4 pump, throtlebody, front cover and the oil return line.
mechanical Oil Metering Pump
> FYI - Richard Sohn and company www.gdsys.net/WWWmembers/unicorn/ are developing an adapter that will allow a 88-91
non-turbo mechanical pump to be adapted to the 13B REW front cover. The adapter also substitutes a seperate oil supply for the OMP so that synthetic 2-stroke oil can be metered to the engine rather than engine oil. The adapter is expeced to be priced below $90.00

premix is soo much better for your engine i dont see why people dont want to run it, it maybe a little paint for a daily driver but it's in your engines best interest for christ sake
