New tuning software early beta/demo release

I have packaged together a floppy bootable image of a beta/demo release of the tuning software I am working on.

Those of you with E6K's may want to give it a try and let me know how it goes, you can find the image at this URL:
http://pengaru.com/downloads/e6tuner/beta/
Note this also has native support for the TechEdge 2A0 wbo2 controller, but you will need 2 available serial ports to use it with the E6K connected.

See the readme.txt file for instructions on saving the file to a disk and using the E6Tuner program. As I improve things / get more feedback I will post any new releases at the same URL until things mature for the full release, so you may want to bookmark it so you can easily check for new releases.

Please keep in mind this is a BETA that is also intended to demonstrate the software. There are some bugs of course, and there are also features that have been intentionally left disabled / out of the program.

Thanks for looking, I look forward to hearing any feedback you guys have to offer.

New release up, 4th one. Summary of changes from the 1st release up to the latest (taken from readme.txt):

e6tuner_beta_pre.img: e6tuner beta / demo floppy image, initial release

e6tuner_beta_pre2.img: e6tuner beta / demo floppy image, second release
Changes from e6tuner_beta_pre.img:
* Hatches for e6 afmv gauge improved
* Hatches for e6 MAP gauge improved

e6tuner_beta_pre3.img: e6tuner beta / demo floppy image, third release
Changes from e6tuner_beta_pre2.img:
* Shift-+ & Shift-- corrected to properly
increment and decrement by 5% of the range.
Before it would just make it 100% when you hit
it. (type priority issue)
* Quieted kernel messages (less junk @ boot)
* No longer queries to hit <enter> for root fs

e6tuner_beta_pre4.img: e6tuner beta / demo floppy image, fourth release
Changes from e6tuner_beta_pre3.img:
* Fixed some graphics 'driver' bugs which caused
flickering on some LCD panels.

So if you give it a try, go get the latest image (pre4 as of now)... I just got done testing it on a friends toshiba satellite @ 1024x768 and man was it nice but it was only a celeron, I would love to see it on a modern Ghz laptop at this resolution.... on the Satellite I was getting ~16 FPS on the gauges in the high res mode, full frame rate (60FPS) would be so sweet.

I'll try get some videos up of it running on a fast machine with my LCD gauge cluster installed, it's going to be ****.

Hey Pengarufoo, Nice to see you're still at this. Ill give your software a shot, ive got an E6K lying around here. Do you have to do anything to the firmware in it or you just use what it has in it?

Anything i should be aware of when trying this? bugs? things to watch out for? things to do prior or after working this? would there be a problem if i used your software and then went back to haltech? is the map structured identical, that way nothing would affect loading from one or the other?

You wanted questions, there you go. Let me know, im downloading as i write this.

Ok, i just downloaded v17 .IMA format, i have Virtual PC with my laptop, loaded the image to the floppy emulator, ran it and it would take me through the initial options, of what ECU to select, screen res (chose 640x480), what comm port, etc, and after the final step it would go blank screen and go back to the beginning. Does the Haltech have to be connected for it to run? or can i run in offline mode?

This isnt compatible with virtual PC? i have it setup with a DOS7.1 partition, my laptop of course has no floppy, but i am waiting or a USB floppy i ordered.

Let me know what to try.
