looking for advice and guidence on PS2000 and 20B install
Hi guys,
I've recently purchased and am planning a 20B install on my FD..
i'm pretty set on using the platinum sport 2000 for the install as well..
I was just looking for some clarifications and such so that I can gather and start ordering and collecting the parts I need...
Wiring wise:
do I re-use any of the stock connectors on the stock loom? or will they all be haltech sensors and units? (mainly TPS comes to mind)
is it better to get the short loom and re-use the stock FD relays/fuses?
or is it better to buy the long loom tear out the old one and wire in the new?
I notice alot of ppl use the LSX coils on their installs.. does this remove the need for an Ignition amp? (i'm currently using the HKS twin power which will become useless on a 3 rotor install)
Can the PS2000 run the 3rotor OMP properly?
my goal is to make the car as streetable and DD as possible.. this means A/C PS and not pouring oil into my gas tank everytime I'm at the pump...
also I'd like to mention, installation and tuning of the car will be done by me, so please no "buy whatever EMS ur tuner is comfortable with" replies..
but any suggestions or pointers would also be greatly appreciated...
thanks!

1 - With the 20B the TPS is the only one to really be concerned with. We have new AMP mating connectors for the 20B TPS or you can simply clip a pigtail off your harness if you got one with the engine and it's in good shape. One the CAS we have begun removing the stock connector and using new Deustch connectors instead. We have a coolant temp sensor that is a direct replacement for the stock sensor in the back of the water pump. No drilling or tapping required. The air temp sensor will need to be installed and drilling and tapping will most likely have to happen for that. All of the Haltech sensors ship with the mating plug and pins.
2 - I would use the flying lead kit. It will simplify installation of the ECU. The short loom is also only about 18-24" in length and are designed primarily for piggyback installations. There may be some long/short looms (full length, no fuses relays) left at Haltech but I've been told they're going to quit making them. With the flying lead harness you have power for all the ignition, injection, ECU, and fuel pump all in one tidy package.
3 - The LSx coils work and do not require an amp. Some people have had pretty good luck with them. We like the similar Mercury coil better.
4 - Yes, the S2K will run the OMP just fine. Will also control AC.
