kickback during hot cranking

i am getting some kickback when cranking my engine, but only when hot. what should my ignition crank map look like? flat all the way across? how much advance? it's fine when it's cold, that's why i'm confused.

try retarding it to about -15-20 deg at 200 deg F and linearize it back to 5 deg advance at 60 deg F.

In theory it should be sloped some, but not a whole lot. That map was for my ign box which I believe has a 20 deg start retard function

It also matter what plugs your using, hotter plugs obviously retain heat longer than colder ones

if you look in the FSM it says cranking timing should be 5btdc, when the engines warm you can run a little more, and when its really cold it'll kickback and want less
