keep blowing fuses with 4 MSD coils

I just rewired the car and installed 4 msd coil pack and for some reason at about 3-3500 rpm I blow out the 10 amp fuse. My car is set up is a supra fuel pump and 720/1680 injectors. I'm thinking since Im runnng the four coils and injectors I might need to up the fuse to 15amp. is this safe on the injectors?

I kinda figured that, but I was hoping that the new coils might need a bigger fuse. Its just hard to believe I just went though all the conection and replaces most of the ends, and relumed every thing under the hood.

Also does anyone know what the little pigtail/connection is for on the MSD coil

Hey man! long time no see! I think its time you upgraded your setup to a Sport 1000 box, you certainly have proven that the K can be a good system, but unfortunately its time to join the 21st century!

How are you firing the coils again? 3x 6A boxes? in a K, the 10A fuse provides power for the injectors and the gray/red wire through out the harness for what ever you need power for, but if you've connected the coil's power supply wire (which you shouldnt since the MSD provide it) you will pushing that little 10A fuse by a lot.

If you're talking about LS1 coils which do require 12V then that can come from the harness, but you'd also need to up the fuse, probably to 20-25A.

How do you have them connected and what coils/ignition system are we talking about.

Yeah it has been a long time, I've been goon a long, a year in greece and then 6 month in Afghanistan, but now I'm going to be home for a year so I hope to finsh this car. Well back to your question I have the four of the MSD ls1 coils and I'm running all the injectors and sesors of the same red/green wire(gray/red) with the 10 amp fuse.

Yeah I know I'm way behind and I plan converting someday. Well I read you right up on how to convert the e6k flying led to fit the e6x so that what I plan on doing later this year. Honestly I havent read any thing about the "Sport Box" But I guess I should read up. but frist Im going to swap fuses and start this car up.

Ah, you have those red LS1 MSD replacement coils with the bypass plug? but i assume you're running the internal igniter right? Yeah, you will definitely need to up that fuse if you have the injectors and coils and anything else connected through the harness power wires.

The Platinum Sport units are the E8/E11 replacements, and ECU Manager is tha Bomb!! Check these threads out:

Enjoy!

You might also want to download ECU Manager and play with it, its really impressive and very big change from DOS. Maybe you should also play with the Halwin 1.89 software a little too

Yeah their the red coils, w/that bypass plug, if that what you call it. And ofcourse Im using the internal igniters thats why I went with the LS1 coils. Thanks Claudio I up the fuse to 25 and the car runs great. No I just need to figure out how to get the secondary to turn on. But that anther problem that I will have to get to later.

So what is the bypass plug used for?

If you wanna use a CDI it bypasses the Igniter, something you cant do if you have a regular LS1 coils.
