Halwin 1.89 and Closed O2 Loop
Howdy folks, I've got an issue on a Turbo II using Halwin 1.89 w/ firmware B35_185. I was originally using this combo to tune the car recently but noticed the O2 loop would not work at all. It just didn't seem to come on. It'd sit at 0% O2 Correction indefinitely on the gauge page. Due to the problem and it's seeming refusal to be alleviated, I rolled back the firmware/software to the 1.71 client. Had to make minor changes on the map to get it to run but the O2 loop worked perfectly. The car, however, developed an odd bucking at any RPM/throttle caused by an abrupt, short, yet massive fuel dump making it nearly undrivable. Went back to 1.89 on the older (known-good) map and all is well. Still no O2 loop working, however.
There's two values here I can modify: Proportional and Integral. On the 1.71 version, they were set to 0 and 1 respectively. I tried those on the 1.89 load yet no dice. I've modified them every which way yet the function will not enable itself at all.
Low-High RPM limit range is 1800 to 4500rpm
Target voltage 547mV
Load select TPS
Throttle Limit 27%
Sample Rate 5-10ms
O2 Sensor Type, Narrowband O2 Sensor 0-1V
O2 Warm Up, 15sec
Delay, 0.5sec
I'm getting real sick of Halwin and its quirks. This isn't the first time I've had issues with it. It stretches all the way back to 2004 with one of the first versions.
Has anybody actually gotten O2 loop to work on 1.89? I don't want smart-*** answers like, "get a wideband and don't use a narrowband", "get a Platinum", or some other crap. That doesn't help me with a customer's car. I'd just like to know why the O2 loop function in the 1.89 client does not seem to work no matter what I try and if anyone's actually gotten it to verifiably work.
Thanks,
B

Sounds like a glitch with the software or firmware perhaps? I read up on an older thread where someone updated it a couple of times before it would work properly for them.
Not sure if it will help, but worth a try.
PS where's my map? haha, just kidding, you're a busy guy.
Good luck!
