Just saw this morning Haltech is planning to add VVT support to the Elite 750 along with "a bunch" of other features. VVT would be a more complex strategy than boost or idle, so maybe there is hope for more functions?

What are the main pros of this vs a ps1000 would you say?

Not near enough I/O on the 750 to run the OMP. You'll need the 1500 or 2500 to do that. The big pro over the 1000/2000 would be easy of tuning with VE mapping and automated staging. You can also do custom tables, where the Sport series has you locked in to the native tables.

What do you need the ECU to do? How about a list?

Would it be worth upgrading to the 750 from the Sprint RE... On an FC
My setup is super basic. Im currently not using any outputs.
I have a streetport and stock turbo. I do plan to go EFR 8374.
I daily the car. Would Knock control warrant the expense. Also I would literally kick a cat if I could fix my transient throttle.

If you're happy with how the car runs with the Sprint, the 750 isn't going to offer you much more. The 750 doesn't have knock control, so that's a moot point. The 750 does have flex fuel capability. So that's a big plus.

If you're building a system from scratch, the 750 offers a lot of upsides. Just from a fuel tuning perspective it's going to be much easier to work with. It also has a couple analog inputs, so you can add some additional sensors. It's a nice ECU but, personally, if I'm spending money and time to upgrade, I'm going for the 1500.

How much of a price difference between the three? 750, 1500, 2000? I am thinking about updating from my Rte 2.1.

Worth every penny! No matter what level you go with the functionality of the software while still being easy to use is remarkable compared to a megasquirt or a older haltech. I went all in and bought a 2500 (so I can use it for future projects also) and I'm 100% satisfied.

The latest firmware opened up unused ignition and injection outputs for use as user defined DPO. They also slid closed loop idle control into the mix. A nice little bonus. This is shaping up to be a nice little ECU.
