is fuel pump rewire required with haltech?

on my T2 I finally installed haltech and got the car running. I have read about the fuel pump rewire, but I am not sure if I have to do this now that haltech is controlling the fuel pump.

All I did was splice in 1 orange wire to the fuel pump, is that sufficient? Do i need to make a big fat chassis ground? I am about to do some dyno tuning and I dont need the fuel pump shitting out on me and my expensive motor.

thanks

well if you ran the orange wire to the pump then you did half of it. all you need to do is add a ground....

cut the factory side of the ground completely and ground it

.....or rub off the insulation and add a nice fat 8 gauge ground to the back chassis of the car?

The Fuel pump can be wired 2 ways, if you are using the flying lead harness one of the orange wires goes to the positive side of the fuel pump, and the negative to ground.

The Haltech will take care of the rest.

thanks claudio. Yes my flying lead does have an orange going to the fuel pump, but as of now the stock ground is in tact. I will make a nice chassis ground today for it, only problem is how much better is it when I have to spice a small 16 gauge wire with my 8 gauge. there is still some small wire there.

whatever, I am overthinking this. ill just add an extra ground to be safe.
