I have a 1995 FD with a Haltech Elite 1000 ecu and I have a few questions regarding tuning the ecu.
A bit of background for the setup:
Stock engine with 40k km on the clock
ID1050x primary injectors
ID2200 secondary injectors
Walbro 341 fuelpump
Aeromotive mini fpr
Turbonetics T62-1 with 0.81 A/R hotside
Stock coils for now
BUR9EQP spark plugs
Using 98RON fuel with 1% Motul 800 2-stroke oil for premix
Planning to run 100kPa / 14psi boost
I have updated the ecu to NSP and i have setup my map using the latest basemap for single turbo rx7 from Haltech.
So far I have been fine tuning the base VE map with the trace method on light loads only, and I was hoping to get to higher loads soon.
So I would like to ask is the base ignition table in the Haltech basemap more on the safe side as in retarded?
Also the split angle table in the basemap makes me confused, since on an older rotary tuning video by Haltech, they say you should stay over 10° for safety
but on the newest basemap this is not true.
I know its 10° - 12° on higher boost but im still wondering about the transient cells.
Another question is about the knock control in Haltech, which for some reason is disabled as default in the basemap.
Here's a picture of one of my logs with the knock threshold and knock signal/level traces.
Does the knock control use Knock Level or Knock Signal outputs for the control threshold?
If it's the signal, then enabling the knock control would retard ignition pretty much all the time.
I'm using the oe FD knock sensor.
Haltech user manual on knock threshold:
So is it signal or level?
Next one is about injector staging.
I have enabled nexus staging and for now I have set both stages at 40% duty cycle.
The few times I've gone over to the second stage, it seems to work very well with no ill effect on AFR.
Should I aim the staging point around the same point that the secondary port throttle valves open?
Last questing is about idle tuning.
I have highlighted the cell on the first picture that my car likes to idle, ~1050 rpm and -60 kPa manifold pressure.
Idle is stable at 12.8 AFR, but that sounds quite rich. Anything over 13 AFR and idle starts to surge.
I was wondering should I add more timing on the idle area, since its 0° on the basemap.
Or is this as good as it gets for ID1050x primaries?
Car has no BAC/IAC valve, as the previous owner deleted it for some reason. But I also dont have A/C, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Feedback and help is appreciated!

Ps. I can post the maps with manifold pressure in imperial units if needed
