Few questions on e6k

ive just installed it in myfc and recently got it running. ive run into a few thigns so far.

1: i had the BAC installed but not wired up, and i noticed on my first startup (fresh motor) the bac was sucking in air already. i thought that was kinda wierd, so today i wired up (pwm wire to one side and grey/red to the other side) start the car and it still sucks in air thru the tube. doesnt matter if enabled or disabled.

2:my IAT is really high, it as bout 160*F while just sitting is that normal? im using the GM sensor in the greddy compression tube right by throttle plates. outside temps (ambient) was prob 90*F or so. thats what it was reading before i started up the car, coolant temps got as high as maybe 200*F. any ideas? i just wrapped my dp today, im waiting for the turbo ehat blanket to come in.

right now it seems to be happy at about 1,500rpms with 12.xxAFRs at idle. motor has bout 3 miles drive on time and maybe an 1hr and half idleing.

i can post datalogs if u guys liked.

i think once its hooked up and running correctly it will correctly regulate the amount of air entering the motor to help the idle and load on the engine. after all when in stock form im sure it "leaks" like you say. its just plumed into the intake system.

Alot of people use the BAC, but depending on what you're running accesory wise (a/c?) I just prefer to toss it. If for no other reason then having a possible leak or having the BAC crap out one day.

I could always get a solid, consistent idle using the zero throttle map (if needed) even on my 1/2 bridge.

The IAT is quite high, but if the engine was just idling for an extended period I wouldn't doubt that the sensor would heat soak (because the entire manifold system would be due to no air moving over the I/C to cool it) but if you notice the temps that high while driving, you DEFINETLY have a heat issue, but just pay attention to it when you go for a drive next time.

As for coolant temps, 200 isn't bad. My fan settings (89C-92C) keep it at roughly 190F through normal driving and extended idling, but during hard driving with only 1 electric fan on I will see 200-210F water temps. Don't want to go much beyond that...............but I'd check your temp settings and make sure they're not turning the fan on too late (or are you running a stock fan?)

im running a taurus efan setup to come on at 195 i think. so coolant might be fine.
im mainly worried bout intake temp and the vac leak caused by the BAC. anyone have some settings i can use for BAC? i just have the tube just sucking air, not thru intake.

I'd lower the turn on temp a bit. about 190, off at 185.

The intake temp is high, but sitting and idling will do that. Drive it and see what it does.

As for the BAC, you don't *need* it, but you can try some other settings for sure. But a block off plate and some tweaking of the zero throttle map iwll make that thing purrr without issue.
