FD Timing adjustment - E6X

Finally got around to installing my haltech and my 62-1.

I've gotten the car to run on TPS maps but not internal yet but mostly likely due to timing not being set.

The problem is I can get the timing fairly close with the lowest setting of 10 degrees (with in about an inch). I can't go any lower to retard it and changing the teeth seems to have no effect.

I've tried teeth from 2-5 and no changes can be noticed in timing.

From my understanding teeth is the coarse adjustment and degrees are fine.

With a CAS I could just restab it and then adjust the degrees or rotate the CAS to line it up.

It's like it's a complete tooth off.

I lock timing at -5 and measure from T1 and the notch on the FD should line up then.

Instead the notch is right inbetween the Sensors and I can't move it that far.

Trigger edge - falling
home edge - falling

Trigger type- Multi tooth

Spark Output - constant charge
Spark edge - Falling

Teeth No - 24 (this is strange to me as i count 12 teeth maybe on stock FD pully?)

RPMs seem fine 188 normaly and about 255 without spark plugs.

Tomorrow i'll trouble shoot some more tomorrow and do some more searching. Not as much info on FD's as FC's.

OK 24 seem right on teeth since it takes 2x rotations for one complete revolution.

just can't seem to make tooth offset work.

According to my information, the REW engines use a tooth offset of 5 and a trigger angle of 65 +/-, if you cant get it aligned using those values you probably misswired the crank sensors, try reversing polarities.

Seems like a fair assumption. I'll check it out when i go to work on it.

Thanks

Well I got the car to run pretty good and can now focus in on my timing.

My pick ups were correct.

I had to take a 13brew map with 3 bar then convert it to 2.5 bar and remap and change the staging bar.

I can lock my timing at -5 and put it on T1 and it won't even show up on the same side as the pully.

When I connect the L1 I can see the line just shifted and in a somewhat reasonable spot off from the mark.

I must have a setting wrong or my map is wrong.

I checked my 3 wires for my ignition and they are correct as far as I can tell LOL.
