failed emissions...
well, as I thought, I failed today... since my a/f was pretty good for crusing anyway, I just turned on closed loop o2 mode with the E8, and set it to 650mv target, and I think 750mv target for idle... and turned the throttle % cut thingies and everything way up so it wouldn't come out of closed loop mode... I think I'll turn the target down to about 500mv? think thats too lean?
also, what kind of ign. adv. should I be at for vac, and very low boost? I think max adv. right now is around 32 for vac, and then drops off to around 25 or lower by the time it gets to 0 boost.... not very aggressive.
and for split? it was 15degrees straight across the boards...
also, are normal factory recommended fine? are there any different trailings or leading plugs I should run for emissions?
if anyone has any more tips for tuning for emissions that would be great. I don't want to run it too lean and go kaboom. also, I'm planning on welding in a 2nd cat... and I've heard of putting some alcohol in the tank? anyone have more info on that?
thanks!
oh, and here are the numbers.
HC limits: 3.0, reading: 7.9
CO limits: 20, reading: 69.31
NOx limits: 6.00, reading: 0.0306
so I have a lot of room with NOx... but I'm way over with HC and CO.
