Haltech A/F ratio question.

A/F ratio question.
Finally got my wideband connected and it's doing some weird ****. The LC-1 shows that it is idling at 4.1 and the Haltech shows 13.2. This is a high overlap motor so i doubt that it is at 13.2 but i don't think it is a rich as 4.1. The car will set and idle and never try to load up. I would at least feel better if both gauges read the same. I used the default calibration in the sensor calibration page also. Do i need to recal the controller or what???

Which gauge are you using?
The DB, G2-5 gauges needs to be setup with an input of 0v = 7.35 a/f and 5v = 22.39 a/f.
The XD-16 should not need calibration. It uses a direct connection to the LC-1.
The Haltech will require you to input a 0V = 10 a/f and 5V = 20 a/f signal.
So, for example, if you have the LC-1 setup to output a 0V=5, 5V=20 signal and you're using that same signal on one or both channels to feed a DB gauge and the Haltech the DB gauge will not read correctly. If using the DB gauge you will need to utilize both outputs of the LC-1. One for the gauge and the other to the Haltech and they will both need to be programmed accordingly.
Now, even at that I'm not sure how you're getting a reading of ~4. Go back and double check the output calibration of the channel(s) used. If you're using the XD-16 gauge then I'm stumped.

I am using an XD-16. I have had weird problems with this unit and just got it back from being repaired. It had switched itself from A/F to Lambda and then the unit quit working. I am wondering if it had switched itself to methanol or some other fuel. I didn't think about it till now but that might explain it. The output does scale from 0-5v. I was wrong about the A/F ratio on the gauge, it was reading 12.3. That is a bit leaner but i don't think my setup would operate at that ratio. Is it possible for the XD-16 to display stoich for meth and LC-1 transmit stoich for gas?

I am using the analog output #2 and it is hooked to the analog input #1 on the Haltech (yellow and white). I am also having a hard time connecting to the XD-16 with the Log Programmer software. Just for the record the input of the LC-1 should be capped with the 2.5mm shunt and the out should be hooked up to the in of the XD-16, then the out of the XD-16 hooked to the DB-9 cable?

DB-9 the plug for the laptop correct? if so i wasnt sure the name of before...ha, but yeah thats how mine is hooked up.

Found the problem, The unit had set itself to a custom setting. I reloaded the default setting and it started working perfectly.

Can i change the calibration of the Haltech to the 0V-7.35 A/F 5V-22.39 A/F? It would make life much easier.
Now if you're using the E6 series I have no idea. With those I just log raw voltage and do a conversion instead of fooling with trying to get it to read an a/f value.

You can try. The Haltech software for the E8/11 has a place for you to enter custom settings but I think I remember reading about a bug that surfaces when you try to change the from the default settings. Imagine that! So I just always calibrate my LM-1 to match the default Haltech settings.
Now if you're using the E6 series I have no idea. With those I just log raw voltage and do a conversion instead of fooling with trying to get it to read an a/f value.
