Elite and 2nd gen Ingnition Distributor support?

Question Elite and 2nd gen Ingnition Distributor support?

I have an E8 installed and working and I know the PS1000 supports distributors for the ignition mode on the older Haltech's.
I am thinking of upgrading to the 1500. But can't find any hard facts on why the new Elite series does not support the Distributor Ignition mode.

I have been on search bender and nothing conclusive with results on why not.

Is it a hardware or software thing?
Any links or source materials from haltech on why?

It’s a matter of firmware support. They’ve just never felt the need to integrate it. If you want to run the Elite, you’ll need two trailing ignitors or smart coils.

When thinking of getting Haltech to do firmware/software programming they have a good base from the previous Ex and PS to add the distributor support for rotary. Whihc would only be 2nd gens. which would be a small market. I think about 100-250 units.maybe bigger if they had distributor support. like double ?

I have the E8 to OEM harness adapter on the and the pinout are nearly identical with E8 to Elite.

I got a direct answer from Haltech on Elite support of Distributor for ignition mode on rotary.. It was not planned to be put in. since there are less older cars using that system.

Haltech dev/engineers are working on the Nexus ECU and not doing much dev for the Elite line.

BUT if there are more requests for Distributor ignition mode support they could add it.
