ek6 manifold pressure fluctuation

Anyone have any ideas why when I datalog my manifold pressure seems all over the place?? There dont seem to be vac leaks or boost leaks. How accurate are these manifold pressure sensors? Seems it reads quite a bit lower than my AEM Boost controller. Im not sure if I;m boosting 14psi like the haltech averages in the logs or 16 psi by the electronic boost controller.

Hmm I read iunder the RTek forum that using a Restrictor Pill with a 1/32 inch diameter hole would help this problem... I'll give this a try, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Thank you

Nevermind... Can someone post a write-up on how to install Alteza brake lights instead?

Location of the input for the MAP sensor is your answer. Place it somewhere in the surge plenum prior to the intake runners on the upper manifold. The signal there will be much less "pulsy".

OK I moved the pickup to the bottom front nipple of the UIM. Made a pretty good difference. it used to bounce arond +/- 5 psi on the datalogs. Not it only bounces +/- 1 psi.

Good to hear. I run into this all the time when I'm out and about tuning on the Haltech/MT cars.
